Volunteering
Over the years, I’ve had many opportunities to volunteer under a wide spectrum of causes and events. Some issues that I care most about include humanitarianism, animal welfare, the environment, and civil rights. Keep scrolling for more info on a few of my past volunteering experiences!

GDPT Hoa Nghiem
Hoa Nghiem has given me countless opportunities to better communities at all levels: local, regional, and even worldwide! The valuable experiences I have gained from this organization have shaped me to become a more empathetic and compassionate person. Here's some of the work I've done at Hoa Nghiem:
-Sold baked and homemade goods to fundraise for countries in need and natural disaster induced events (Hurricane Sandy and Harvey, 2011 Tsunami in Japan, 2012 Earthquake in Nepal, etc.)
-Cooked and served food at a homeless shelter
-Raked leaves in the community
-Cleaned up living spaces for monks

Chemistry Lab Assistant
Since September 2018, I've been volunteering as a lab assistant at Edison. I initially started just to gain volunteer hours, but since then it's become a responsibility that I've come to love and look forward to. Being a lab assistant has given me a more personal connection to chemistry and has allowed me to hone various skills- teaching, listening, organizing, managing time, and more! Here's what I've done as an assistant:
- Concocted chemical solutions for labs
- Organized and cleaned lab areas
- Guided students through lab experiments
- Executed test labs
- Completed other tasks (collecting lab materials, washing glassware, handling chemicals, etc.)
Track & Field
Track has been a fulfilling volunteer experience, as it allows me to learn more about the sport even if I'm not participating. I've been a member of the team since freshman year (2017) and have had lots of fun helping out! Below is a list of my volunteer activities:
-Cleaned up track/field after all home meets
-Coach’s assistant during 5A District Championships (2018-2019 Indoor and Outdoor seasons)
-Set up high jump, blocks, and hurdles during meets
